The Age of Manufacturing in Foundry Industry

- Past, Present and Future

Digital technology is taking manufacturing to a whole new level with artificial intelligence and machine learning. At LMW Foundry Division, we are among the few reshaping our models to reflect how businesses are undergoing digital transformation in real-time.

It pushes us to move more quickly. We look at reducing, not eliminating, inefficiencies. Even though we are maintaining substantial control on emissions from foundry processes, we aim for zero emissions, zero scrap, 100% on-time delivery with no inventory, and readily available computerized data for interactions with suppliers and our customers on demand. This will be extended to suppliers and customers on-demand through automated pouring and in-house 3D printing technology.

We are currently measuring and developing better metrics to provide consistency and reliability in manufacturing. We constantly strive to find solutions for meeting the evergrowing demands of the customer. One way we do this is by reducing manual interventions.

In fact, this mindset change drives our business to the new platform. Our thinking about the future will bring dynamic innovations in technology that we cannot yet imagine. We are preparing ourselves. History proves that innovation sows the seeds of discontent that can be gamechangers.

Higher technology will not be adopted by everyone. It will disrupt our lives permanently as well. Most research articles have indicated that 50% of people believe that computers and robots will be the future workforce in foundries, and 38% believe the work they currently do will be at risk.

The technological disruption will be at a speed and volume that nobody would have ever experienced. Tomorrow's foundry men have to balance the political pressures in the environmental bowl to meet the level of compliance that has never been imagined.

Today we are witnessing the world going green to reduce fossil fuel and CO2 emissions in the present. They will have to deal with a widening wealth gap between nations. Artificial intelligence will be the catastrophic event that we believe will bring about that change for every nation and every person in the world.

In microanalysis, the foundry industry will continue to be compromised by advancements in producing castings with 3D printing. Fossil fuels may no longer be accessible, and we need to think of alternative solutions. The cost impact of these changes would be out of the question.

Change is the essence of existence, and we are about to explore a new frontier. We owe it to those leading industries to take on challenges and empower all of us to live in a better world.
